GREAT HORROR CAMPOUT SD: A Night of Terror You’ll Never Forget!

If you think you can handle fear, you haven’t experienced the GREAT HORROR CAMPOUT! Bridgetta and Adam braved this extreme horror event in San Diego, and it was one of the most intense and terrifying nights ever! This isn’t your average haunted house—this live, interactive horror campout travels from city to city, immersing you in an all-night terror fest where your worst nightmares come to life. And yes, you can get touched, chased, and even kidnapped. Nowhere is safe—not even your own tent!

From the moment we arrived and set up our camp, and signed our waiver that we can allow them to touch us, kidnap us, scare us, and injury waivers, we knew this was no ordinary camping trip. The creators of the LA Haunted Hayride took things up a notch with this one, and it shows. As we got our campsite ready, creepy clowns, chainsaw-wielding maniacs, and other horror movie creatures started roaming the grounds. We were handed a map, kind of like something out of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The map showed us the creatures lurking in the campground and gave us clues to find objects for the next 24-hour survival journey.

The highlight (or should I say lowlight) of the night? I got kidnapped. Yep, they grabbed me, threw me into a barred kidnapper van, and locked me in a barred "cell" in front of everyone at the camp's town center. I had to think fast. Using whatever was around, I tossed my clothes out of the cell to try and hook the keys. After nearly 44 minutes of desperation, I finally snagged them just as Adam showed up to help me out, as he had NO idea where they had taken me, just like a real kidnapping. They take our greatest fears and make them come alive during this adventure. Talk about a close call! But that wasn’t the end of our night.

Next, we found ourselves diving into a dark pool, searching for objects underwater, just like Goblet of Fire. Just when we thought we could catch our breath, we had to crawl through a car while the roof was being smashed in. Literally, something was crashing down on top of the car as we crawled through it. I banged my head hard as I tried to scramble out, and when I made it through, I had to grab some ice for the injury. Waivers were definitely a good idea on their part.

We continued the horror journey into the witches’ forest, where we had to search for hidden objects in the bushes and forest. Unfortunately for me, I picked up a souvenir in the form of poison oak, which left me with a rash on my chest the next day. Lesson learned—dress fully covered if you dare to come here!

To top it off, just when we thought we could rest, they woke us up at 3 a.m. and dragged us out of our tents. No one was safe, even while trying to sleep. The whole night felt like a twisted nightmare, but the immersive terror was so well-done that it was impossible not to be impressed.

The GREAT HORROR CAMPOUT is not for the faint of heart, but if you're a true thrill-seeker, it's an experience you’ll never forget. Complete all the missions, dodge the creeps, and survive the night, and you might even win some prizes. Think you can handle it? Just remember, no one is safe—sleeping or awake. Come if you dare!
